Founded in San Francisco, California in February 2020, the company’s mission is to share medical device development insights and best practices to enhance the knowledge and capability of existing medical device industry professionals and to facilitate the entrance of new talent into the industry. Founder
Aruna Ranaweera has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. He has worked with large Fortune 500 corporations, small medical device startups, and technology companies interested in entering the medical device space. At Stryker Corporation, Aruna was the Associate Director of Design Engineering Processes, responsible for harmonizing both the Risk Management process and the project management aspects of the Design Controls process across the entire company, which entailed conducting in person trainings for hundreds of employees in North America, Europe, and Asia. He previously held senior engineering and management positions in Advanced Engineering (New Product Development) and Quality Assurance at Stryker Endoscopy. Aruna holds a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he specialized in Dynamic Systems, Control, and Robotics. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
